The Yard Brisbane (formerly the Brisbane Marine Industry Park) is an extensive industrial precinct in Hemmant, fronting Aquarium Passage and the Brisbane Rive and located just upstream of the Port of Brisbane. The Yard Brisbane accommodates a wide range of maritime industries, many involving the construction, repair and refitting of marine vessels of all shapes and sizes, and a ship lifting business operating mobile travel lifts of 60, 300 and 600 tonnes capacity.
Planning services provided have included the compilation of a comprehensive due diligence package to facilitate the sale of approximately 6 hectares of surplus land, and the preparation and management of a range of successful development material change of use, reconfiguration of a lot, prescribed tidal works and building works applications. The development approvals processes have facilitated the development of a new loading ramp for roll-on, roll-off vessels and for the launching of smaller craft, for a marine diesel storage and vessel refueling facility, the subdivision of the waterfront land into three, manageable lots and industrial use precincts and for the use of an existing industrial building for recycling facility. These approvals have also facilitated the demolition of a number of obsolete buildings and structures within the precinct.
Access Town Planning Consultants are also currently working on a number of exciting new development projects for The Yard Brisbane, and updates on these projects are expected to be posted later in 2020/21.
